On the 11th of January, International Paget's Awareness Day 2022, we will be looking at Paget's Disease of Bone around the world.
Dr Tori Herridge will be interviewing Paget’s experts from India, Canada, Spain, Brazil and Italy. Dr Herridge is an evolutionary biologist and a presenter on Channel 4’s Bone Detectives series.
Specially produced for Paget's Awareness Day, this exciting Research documentary below explores what medieval bones and teeth can tell us about Paget's disease. Watch as investigators reveal the new science and stories behind the archaeological collection at Norton Priory, Cheshire. The research was featured in an episode of 'Bone Detectives' on Channel 4.
Do you find that many people have never heard of Paget's disease or may not understand it? Currently, we have local Support Group meetings in Sheffield, where there will be the opportunity to meet others with Paget's disease, make friends and obtain information from a Specialist Nurse in an informal setting, over a cup of tea. The group is open to anyone who would like to attend, and friends and family are more than welcome. These meetings are free and refreshments are provided.
