Paget's News is a quarterly magazine sent to members of the Paget's Association.  In the August 2020 issue we celebrate the success of the clinical Guideline for Paget's disease, Professor Wilkinson looks at orthopaedic surgery for those with Paget's and we look at a new genetic research study and how those with Paget's disease can take part.

My Experience of Paget’s Disease

"For me, Paget’s came on the scene after going to the doctors with a painful leg and knees.

My golf days had become difficult and in the nineteenth (golf club bar) my friends would advise that a knee clean out was the solution. They spoke from personal experience, and after lots of nagging, I finally visited the doctors which was a rare occasion (perhaps it’s a man’s thing).

The Paget's Association is pleased to announce that the Guideline for the Diagnosis and Management of Paget’s Disease of Bone in Adults, was in the top 10% of downloaded papers published in the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research 2018 - 2019.

We would like to reassure all our members that the Paget’s Association continues to offer support to anyone affected by Paget's Disease of Bone.

Although our working arrangements are a little different at the moment, our Nurse Helpline and office phone lines are still available as normal, should you need to contact us.

Support Groups

Paget's Support Groups

Do you find that many people have never heard of Paget's disease or may not understand it? We have Support Group meetings in Sheffield and Manchester, where there will be the opportunity to meet others with Paget's disease, make friends and obtain information from a Specialist Nurse in an informal setting, over a cup of tea. The support groups are open to anyone who would like to attend, and friends and family are more than welcome. This meetings are free and refreshments are provided.
